Youngsters enjoying Fresh From the Farms Produce!

  • Thank you for your interest in Fresh from the Farms.  We have a passion for encouraging a community of Locavores, people who seek out locally-grown foods in an effort to eat fresh, nutritious food and support farmers and the local economy.  Nearly every item in our boxes is from farms within a 30-mile radius of Fort Mill/Rock Hill (see a map here).  100% of our farmboxes support the local food industry. The emphasis for Fresh from the Farms is on local, not organic. Though many farms practice sustainable farming, few are certified organic which can be cost-prohibitive.
  • A ½ bushel-sized box of produce is $38 and includes varying kinds of seasonal produce, depending on availability, normally 9-10 unique items per box.  A bushel-sized box of produce is $70 and will include a double portion of every item.
  • Fresh from the Farms is not a CSA. For starters, we deliver the produce straight to your doorstep. There are no contracts or commitments. Never any fees to cancel delivery on any given week. Also, we offer a degree of customization. If there are items you absolutely dislike, we are happy to make substitutions, by adding an additional portion of what will be included in that week’s farmbox. This is always based on the freshest, local farm produce we can get our hands on.
  • How do we manage customization? For every new customer, we will leave a produce preference survey and a self-addressed, stamped envelope.  New customers will rate each item of produce listed, and send the survey back to us.  We keep that information on file, referencing customer preferences for packing future farmboxes, omitting items marked with a 0.
  • At the bottom of our produce preference survey, you will see our four delivery frequencies:
1). automatic weekly, summer season only
    2). automatic biweekly
    3). automatic monthly
4). on-request onlyDecide which delivery rotation works best for you and your family, and we will deliver a farmbox accordingly. Our deliveries are almost always on Wednesday afternoons (with rare exceptions on holiday weeks). As a convenience, we offer ice mats with every delivery for $10/one year subscription fee. Just leave the ice mat from your previous delivery in your cooler, and we will swap with a frozen one.
  • If you choose any of our automatic delivery frequencies, you will receive an email on the Friday before your delivery week, letting you know what you can expect in that following Wednesday’s farmbox. You are welcome to cancel or change automatic deliveries at any time, without penalty, with a simple email to info (at) freshfromthefarms.com. But we will make preparations to deliver your farmbox, if we don’t hear from you by Sunday at 11:59 p.m. of the delivery week. Please know there is no commitment or contract to sign, and never any fees to cancel.
  • Fresh from the Farms delivers only to the York County communities of Fort Mill, Tega Cay and parts of Rock Hill, South Carolina. We will be offering delivery to Rock Hill’s 29732 zip code plus the Riverwalk neighborhood, starting on July 11.
  • In addition to the regular farmbox, we offer different add-ons, like 1 lb. of local honey ($11) and, free range eggs ($6 per dozen), bread and goat cheese. On select weeks, we offer fresh pasta from Charlotte’s Pasta and Provisions (see delivery schedule). All these items can be delivered with the purchase of a farmbox.
  • One last note, existing customers always receive a $10 referral discount off their next box for any referral that leads to a box purchase. Don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.  We love hearing from you!

What’s in a typical box from FFTF?

Fresh From the Farms box

You may wonder what exactly fills a Fresh From the Farms peck-size box?

That’s a great question. The answer varies from week to week.

Our commitment is to deliver to your door the freshest, local produce we can find. Your box can vary either slightly or greatly between deliveries, depending on what is available from our local, trusted farmers. And, of course, what is in season.

Produce may include, but is not limited to:

Different varieties of lettuce, strawberries, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, spinach, carrots, peppers, squash, kale, corn, green beans, cucumbers, zucchini, potatoes, apples, peaches, blueberries, blackberries, figs, green beans, radishes, beets, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cantaloupe, watermelon, etc.

Each customer will receive a produce survey, which will help us as we assemble your box. We will leave out items you dislike and substitute with items you grade more favorably.
